Fooder: the food university of Emilia-Romagna
Year
2024

Fooder is a network of universities, companies and public bodies in Emilia-Romagna. It offers inter-university study programmes with an international focus, aimed at Italian, European and non-European students, to train people able to meet the challenges of the agri-food sector. For Fooder, Dinamo handled brand strategy, visual identity, content, design and development of the website.

What sets Fooder apart, beyond its inter-university character, is direct collaboration with business. Companies take part in designing specific training programmes, recruiting qualified staff at the end of them. Fooder also supports new innovative ventures, with the aim of becoming an incubator for agricultural start-ups within five years.

The food university of Emilia-Romagna, built by grafting universities onto business.

The project

Fooder is a network of universities, companies and public bodies in Emilia-Romagna. It offers inter-university study programmes with an international focus, to train people able to meet the challenges of the agri-food sector. Its distinctive value is direct collaboration with business, involved in designing the programmes, with the ambition of becoming an incubator for agricultural start-ups. For Fooder, Dinamo handled brand strategy, visual identity, content, design and development of the site.

The project began with a branding workshop, from which came the key words nourish, grow, cultivate, innovate, entrust. From there the concept: agricultural grafting, the practice of joining the traits of two plants to gain new advantages. Like a graft, Fooder connects and releases, and allows people to excel.

The content strategy guided the writing and the full translation of the content. UI design held together human-centred usability and brand identity, with one further variable: the content grows over time, so the interface had to be designed to evolve.
