Gelateria Dondoli: an integrated digital project
Year
2026

Dondoli is an artisan gelateria in the shadow of the towers of San Gimignano that has become famous around the world. It makes gelato every day from selected ingredients, with the internationally recognised master gelato maker Sergio Dondoli, and a presence reaching as far as Paris, at Galleria Continua. It is a gelato brand with heavy footfall and an international audience.

For Dondoli, Dinamo handled an integrated digital project: digital brand, communication, website, in-store screen application and mobile application. Five areas, one identity.

One brand system, applied across identity, communication, website and applications.

The starting choice is one of respect. Dondoli's historic logo stays as it is: you do not touch a mark the public recognises. The identity work happens inside the digital, with a new identity built on the typeface Exposure, giving voice and coherence to every online touchpoint. That identity does not stay on screen. It has carried over into the physical shops, with graphics of various kinds on display. The digital becomes the place where the identity is defined and from which it spreads to the physical.

The brand website

The site is the brand's public home. Flavours are organised into families, fruit, chocolate, cream, milk, specialities, each with its own line of positioning. The account of the ingredients is concrete and verifiable: biodynamic milk from a local chain of ten adopted cows, protected designations, traceable raw materials. The specialities tie the product to the place: saffron, Vernaccia, aromatic herbs. Around the product live the people, activities such as the Gelato Class, the shops and the contacts. The structure turns a list of flavours into a navigable system, multilingual for an international audience.

In the shop the screens display the available flavours. The application driving them draws on the brand's same catalogue, so what the screen announces is always aligned with what the site says and with what can be ordered. It is the physical version of the catalogue, updated by the client without redoing graphics every time a flavour changes.

The mobile application accompanies the composition of the gelato. It guides in a few steps: first the format, Cone, Cup, Granita, then the flavours, with a limit tied to the format and a filter, and finally the summary to show at the counter. Every flavour has its page, category, description, ingredients and allergens set out clearly, with registered specialities such as Sorbetto di Vernaccia, Crema di Santa Fina and Michelle. The entry point is bilingual, Italian and English. It is the same catalogue as the site and the screens, in a form designed for the customer's choice.
