How do you close a research partnership that has run for three years, with 26 organisations, hundreds of projects and thousands of results? Not with an administrative report. With a volume that can be read and leafed through, able to hold both the mass of the work and the sense running through it.
The OnFoods Handbook gathers and organises the main results, approaches and tools developed over the three years of the extended OnFoods partnership (national recovery plan, Mission 4, Component 2, Investment 1.3). It is a work edited by the OnFoods Foundation, published in March 2026. Dinamo handled its conception, editorial design and graphic design: 116 pages giving form to three years of shared work.
A book to bring order to three years of research
Editorial structure
The volume turns a complex project into a readable form. It opens with an editorial by the president Daniele Del Rio, on the long time of research, and with an overview that serves as a key: food as a system, research as civic infrastructure. From there it moves to the significant outcomes and the strategic knots, from the innovation chain to the metrics, from the guidelines to public policy. A structure that carries the reader from the general picture to the detail, without losing the thread.
The figures, in visual form
A dedicated section sets out the scale of the programme: 114 million euro of funding, over 600 people involved among research fellows, doctoral candidates, technologists and researchers, more than 350 projects, over 1,000 scientific results, more than 150 companies and 26 partner organisations. Infographics and visual summaries turn the data of an extended partnership into a map that can be taken in at a glance.
The research ecosystem
The heart of the Handbook is the mapping of the research ecosystem, organised by the project's seven Spokes and their work packages: from global sustainability to smart and circular food systems, from food safety and quality to nutrition and prevention, through to policies for healthy and sustainable diets. For each work package the volume sets out objectives, activities, coordination and results, with cross-references to the dedicated sections of the website.
